じょうどう【上堂】

(1)禅宗で，住持が法堂(ハツトウ)で，説教したり僧と問答すること。初めは随時行なったが，のちには日時を定めて行うようになった。

(2)僧が食事をとるために僧堂に上ること。

(3)僧堂内の上の間。

(1)常に変わらない真理。人が守るべき道。

(2)原則にかなった方法。普通のやり方。

感情のうち，急速にひき起こされ，その過程が一時的で急激なもの。怒り・恐れ・喜び・悲しみといった意識状態と同時に，顔色が変わる，呼吸や脈搏(ミヤクハク)が変化する，などの生理的な変化が伴う。情緒。
